whirlwind

perhaps ym's right. there's too much negativity surrounding me right now. everything seems unsettled and in a mess. i just need more order and positivity in my life again.

first snow!

winter's first snow fell last night! and with it, all the euphoria associated with lightly drifting snowflakes and pleasant snow-covered lawns and roads. as with the welcoming gentle rise in temperature that follows snowfall, our sentiments lightened up upon leaving walsgrave hospital. get well soon kame! our thoughts and prayers are with you.. and for the first time, our backyard looked nice!

but everything melted away by morning. our backyard was just as dirty, and our driveway gross from the wet snow. don't read into that.

sub-zero ramblings

if i'm not wrong tonight's the first of sub-zero temperatures to come. but it feels like there's more to the weather than just the feeling that my fingers are going to fall off. there's a mood that replicates the euphoria in anticipation of winter's first snow, mixed with a persistent gloom of winter's depressing overture. i wish it'd just be the euphoria bit, but i suppose it's understandable that it wouldn't snow without it being cold and gloomy? they're synonymous aren't they? selfish thoughts at that, that winter's first snow should invoke euphoria. wait. that doesn't quite work out. arh whatever.

winter's come. i'm positive of it. i had to wear a jumper inside of my coat just for the 5 minute walk to morrisons. the cold really gets to your fingers and to your face so bad, it hurts. and so the long nights toil, and daylight's just a dull of grey. it's like having the colour stripped from a film, leaving a drab of monochrome. depressing, really... no one should be alone this winter.

in dire need of a hot cup of coffee and warmth of presence.
